Cosmetic Laser Training
Medical Spas are a booming industry and Physicians are looking for trained Laser & Skin Specialists. Whether you are seeking to make a positive life change by starting a new career or continuing to advance your knowledge in treatments; Thrive Skin Institute will prepare you for the next level.
The goal of our laser training certificate program is to teach students how to use cosmetic lasers, conduct a consultation, asses patients for laser procedures, perform treatments and follow up with clients. Each of these steps is explained in-depth through coursework, hands-on practice sessions and demonstrations. Students also get an understanding of the daily duties of a laser technician, including following up with clients, conducting skin analyses, workplace safety and sanitation, and taking before and after photos.
At Thrive Skin Institute, we feel that it’s important for our students to receive the finest education. Our training programs are featured in two parts to facilitate learning in a progressive and enjoyable fashion that leads our students to successful completion of courses.
Part 1 is taught in the Online classroom, where students learn theory
Part 2 is the experience portion and is hands-on.
Certification requirements vary state-to-state. The cosmetic laser industry is a new and evolving field, there is not yet one specific standard of education required. An esthetician license is often preferred; however, this is not always required. Always check with the state licensing board in the state you plan to practice for any specific requirements.
Med spas, dermatology and plastic surgery offices need trained professionals that are well able to provide these services.
With different levels of licensing and experience, salaries vary. The annual salary for an esthetician working as a laser technician is between $35,000-$60,000. According to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth for estheticians is predicted to be faster than average.
